The About You Tab- What Does Yours Say?

Every company has a website now but many of them miss an important page. The About Me page.

About You
Every company has a website now but many of them miss an important page. The About Me page. I’ll admit I have some that need to be updated as I just did a generic post and a Copy and Paste between a few of my sites. They are for my Laundry’s so I didn’t think much about it and I made them business specific.

The problem with this is they are a community-based business; I cannot sell the service online or offer to ship. I do know many of my customers but there are others that may see me in the store and not know if I am the cleaner, repairman, candy machine guy, manager or owner or just some guy walking through the store.

People do business with people they know, like and trust. Also, they want to know there is a real person on the other end of the phone or at the end of the email. They may not have a particular concern but just want to feel like a person and not a bag of quarters to an anonymous corporation. The customers that know you personally or by learning about you will also promote and defend your business to others.

This applies to most businesses, especially small or independent. You could have an online company, a Brick and Mortar or a Click and Mortar. Your About Me page should have a picture of you and a story of how you got to this point in your life and business.

How many of you feel you know somebody that you follow on Facebook? It could be someone you went to school with years ago or someone that has the same interests as you. Maybe it’s a relative that you have not actually talked to or seen in years and could have walked past them on the street if you had not been reading their posts or watching a video they made.

Spend some time writing your story and get it on your website and other Social Media pages. It may be the best business move you make this year.

(Sorry, the video doesn’t have any sound. Sometimes you have some glitches and just need to keep moving on.)
