Standard Change-Maker MC100 Guard

When people enter the store and look around and see window bars, steel frames on the vending machines, and extra locks on the change machine they start to wonder how safe they are in the store.

Standard Change-Maker MC100 Guard

A while back I had a change machine damaged by low life, scum… You know what I mean.

I covered their exploits here The Guy With The Grinder

Repairing and installing the same setup was not an option. If the guys were local they may decide to hit it again and be even quicker this time.

I contacted Standard Change-Maker to see what options they had. The only method for securing this model was too “secure looking”.

I also didn’t want the hassle of 2 more locks.

When people enter the store and look around and see window bars, steel frames on the vending machines, and extra locks on the change machine they start to wonder how safe they are in the store.

So I thought about the best way to secure the acceptor without looking too aggressive.

Fitting a flat plate over the exposed area seemed like the best idea so I contacted a local machine shop through our Chamber of Commerce directory and was glad to find that they would do a small “one of” job.

I stopped in a couple of days later to see how they were doing and they were just finishing with some measurements. We had some discussions about their vision and my concerns about the appearance and came up with a final design.

The cover is made out of stainless steel and painted flat black. It bolts from the inside and sits tight around the edges to prevent a pry point.

These are now available FOR SALE
